Another piece of news to make me smile. Fabolous has signed a shoe deal with Reebok. With this not only are there sneaker involoved, but a performance from Fab himslef is involoved. What else could I want in my life again Fab is tall, dark, and tatted and now sneakers are invloved (and I don't even rocks with Reeboks) :), yeah I'm happy.

THIS IS TOO CUTE!!!

Saw these pictures of Daniel, Solange's son, that she took of him in Japan and I had to post them, he's so adorable and the shoots are so hot. I couldn't say no.

Chris Breezy's street style

When I first saw these pictures I couldn't help but understand how him and Rihanna got together. They both seem to have the ability to switch they're style pretty effortlessly. I know there are people in the fashion industry who would cringe at Chris' choice of attire, but that's the beauty of street style, the rules are much more lax and fashion becomes more fun and less work. Don't get me wrong, there are still rules, and I wasn't in love with the sweater outfit at first, but it did grow me to the point where I love it now. Breezy gets the thumbs up from me!

Fall Trend: bandage skirts

I remember seeing these bandage skirts in stores, can't remember which ones, and thinking how I loved them. And sure enough they are a trend of fall 2009 (see Glamour http://www.glamour.com/fashion/2009/08/25-sexy-fall-finds-for-under-100#slide=17 ) Simple, yet chic and great for accentuating one's curves these skirts are a great starting place for this fall, dress them up of down, just be sure to do it right, and you'll steal the night, or the day!!!

Ms. Amber Rose herself was caught sporting one, so you know people are going to hop on this trend.

Pucci without print?

We may need to excuse my fashion ignorance on this one, but I have never seen an Emilio Pucci without a print on it. So when I saw this Pucci dress worn by Rachel McAdams I questioned whether or not I would wear a Pucci without a print on it if I had the opportunity. My immediate answer is no, why would I wear a piece from from the Prince of Prints minus a print. But then again how many people get to wear a Pucci? (not many coming from where I've been) If I'm going to spend my guap on it, I want bright colors and bold patterns. But if anyone is looking to be nice and pass the Pucci my way, hell a draped white jersey dress will do me just fine, assuming I like it and it's flattering, all that jazz.

Pockets longer than your shorts?

I had to post this because my sister told me to tweet the other day "Ladies if your pockets are longer than your shorts, you might want to consider new shorts" It was good for a laugh but as I look at the trend I'm not too big on it either. It's awkward when my sister and I agree on fashion advice....

On the right side of the shorts debate we have Rihanna. Love this look. Once again I'm a sucker for plaid and a tied as opposed to buckled belt always adds a little something more to even the simplest outfit in my opinion. See, the little things sometimes make or break an outfit.

To recap: peeking pockets - no Tied belt - yes

Eva Longoria Parker wins look of the day

I wanted to post this because it's been a while since I have agreed with InStyle with who wins their look of the day. But I agreed with them hands down when they picked Eva Longoria Parker as the August 12th, 2009 winner.

The embellished jersey dress from Reem Acra paired with YSL platforms was simple and classic, can't go wrong there!

Fabolous' Complex Spread

I will admit that there is a huge bias in me posting this on the count that I am a huge Fabolous fan, so when I saw his Complex spread, even though I loved Keri Hilson's and Amber Rose's I knew I would post his. Aside from Fab just being a
handsome man (tall, dark, and tatted just how I like them) he also has style. I heart a handsome man with style. I also love that he admits that he needs rehab for his BlackBerry. If he will go I will go, LOL. But here are shots from the spread. Stuff like this makes me want to go to the Dominican Republic A.S.A.P. or at least Brooklyn...

I absolutely love the plaid and the bubble vest!!! And of course you can check out Ms. Hilson's and Ms. Rose's spreads at Complex.com or pick up the magazine. I suggest you do both!

Miley Cyrus vs. KeKe Palmer

Miley Cyrus and KeKe Palmer both have a clear influence on today's youth via their hit TV shows. Both young ladies have chosen to expand their influence with clothing lines at Wal-mart. Being a fan of both young ladies (yes I'm a big kid) I was excited to see what both lines had to offer. I'm actually sadden to say that one line fell very short of my expectations but here's my quick summary.

Miley Cyrus - I expected that partnering with Max Azria's would give Ms. Cyrus a clear advantage, but since her style isn't too refined I figured the collection would consist of mostly trendy pieces, bright colors, bold patterns and plaid, you cannot forget plaid. I expected basic construction, nothing too detail oriented. In my opinion I feel that I did a pretty good job pegging her line. The plaid skirts were no surprise nor were the leopard leggings. The henleys and hoodies were very Miley Stewart chic as were the graphic tees. I liked the London punk influence and I will always <3 colored skinnies. The vest/tee combos seemed a tad young to me, but let's face it she has a fan base that spans various ages groups. I was most surprised by the ruffle blouse, which strikes me as more True Jackson.
KeKe Palmer - Once I read that KeKe Palmer did not actually design the line I got kind of worried about what the collection would look like. But after watching a few re-runs of True Jackson VP I was confident that True's style would translate easily. I expected a more refined, detail oriented line that focused more on wardrobe staples and tween classics that were still fun. I was deeply disappointed. When I looked at the collection I felt as if I was shopping for my 4 year old cousins. The henleys were a surprise, I don't see anything True Jackson in a henley. The use of hounds tooth left more to be desired, def wasn't feeling the leggings. The hounds tooth skirt was a step up, just thought it would be a pencil skirt, pleats strike me as more Miley Cyrus, and the addition of the suspenders kills me. Maybe if they had more variations to hit the different age ranges I would be more pleased. My sister just came in and said that she thinks the True Jackson line is for girls and not juniors. If that's true a lot would be explained...

In the end I was pulling for KeKe Palmer's line to prevail, but Miley Cyrus beat her out. But there is the possibility that Ms. Palmer's line was aimed at a different age group which would totally change my opinion. In the end it is good to see both young women doing something positive for the young girls that look up to them. If I had a daughter I'd prefer her wanting to buy their clothes over something she saw Paris Hilton in!
